Law Firm Inks Two Office Leases in LA Area

Fisher Phillips’ moves are part of a flight-to-quality trend in the area.

Employment law firm Fisher Phillips LLP has secured new office leases in downtown Los Angeles and Woodland Hills, California — both of which were arranged by JLL.

The firm signed a new 35,744-square-foot lease at 515 South Flower St. in Los Angeles, relocating from 444 S. Flower St., where it had occupied about 30,000 square feet.

The other deal was for its existing space at 21600 Oxnard St., signing a 13,624-square-foot lease.

“Both new leases are representative of the firm’s continued growth in the Los Angeles region,” Jim Schoolfield, managing director at JLL, told GlobeSt.com.

“In downtown Los Angeles, Fisher Phillips believes in the submarket but wanted to be a building that better supports its image and has a variety of amenities to help with recruitment and retention; and 515 South Flower Street is the perfect fit to help the firm achieve its goals.”

Schoolfield and Kevin Bender represented Fisher Phillips in the leases.

The deal on Flower Street was handled in-house by John Bendetti on behalf of the landlord, CommonWealth Partners. For the lease on Oxnard Street, landlord Douglas Emmett was represented in-house by Ali Mourad.

Fisher Phillips has more than 675 attorneys in 45 offices across the United States, Mexico and Japan.

Bender said there has been a flight to quality with law firms and companies in other sectors for office leasing in Los Angeles.
